About the Artist
Susan Grace

Susan GraceSusan Grace has nurtured her artistic talent since childhood. Her life journey seems straightforward on the surface:

Childhood in Cottonwood County, MN, earning a B.A. at the College of St. Catherine, in St.Paul, MN, marriage, children, advanced Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT) and Doctorate in Occupation Therapy.

As an artist, though, Susan rarely sees only the surface. She has studied art with many teachers from a variety of artistic and cultural traditions. Living a gentle life blended with continued studies in the medical realm informs and inspires Susan's "hard science" knowledge and artistic expression.

Much of Susan's work is inspired by her journey with breast cancer. Susan's watercolors are grounded in women's issues, family life and the natural world. The facets of those experiences, from the mundane to the monumental find expression in her brush.

Susan's recent stained glass designs reach toward balance and harmony, heavily influenced by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Arts and Crafts movement and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Susan fuses her stained glass designs with her husband Dan Tharp's metal work to form Stahlkraft, LLC.

Large paintings are $150.00 plus $20.00 shipping and handling.
